Hailing from Gothenburg, Sweden, Vilhelm Hasselgren delivers his first EP for Westival. Following stellar releases on Miura Records and his own imprint Villa Records (a label he runs with brother Einar), Hasselgren sets his sights on further honing and refining his unique but nostalgic take on jungle, breakbeat and UKG. Spanning four beautifully diverse originals and a stellar remix from Main Phase, the Stars Align EP is a complete sensory journey through the deeper side of dance music.

EP opener and title track 'Stars Align' sets the mood, equipping Intricate drums and fluffy synths to place you in an otherworldly dream-state. 'Mist' follows suit, effortlessly weaving skewed drum samples through swelling soundscapes before switching gear into classic jungle territory. Stirring up the vibe, 'Enter' comes in hot with the UKG energy-floor shaking subs and skippy drum work take precedent to create a dancefloor-ready banger. Continuing the floor shaking theme, 'Leisure' offers another club ready cut. Tranquil breakdowns provide a glimpse of light before a descent back into heads-down shuffling. Closing off the EP, Main Phase delivers a crisp, wobbling flip of Mist.
